Safe Haven Animal RescuE (SHARE) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit. We are a foster home based rescue located in Lafayette Parish but serve animals all over the surrounding areas. Our mission is to help all animals in our group with finding a fur-ever home. SHARE works with a network of fosters, volunteers and vets to ensure the animals in our rescue receive the love, care and medical attention they deserve. Together, we are restoring the faith in animals left behind.
Want to help an animal in need? There are many opportunities to get involved in such as fulfilling an item on our Amazon Wishlist, planned giving, or donating to a specific animal. Want more information about these and other chances to help? Contact us!
Dog of The Week
Cleo is as sweet as it gets. She is a three year old Boxer / Lab mix who loves children. Cleo weighs 70+ lbs so would need supervision around smaller children as she gets overly excited. She loves to run and play in the back yard, going for walks, she gets really excited when she sees her leash. She is also a great car rider, she can ride all day long. Cleo has played with male and female dogs, large and small. She seems to do better with the larger males. Cleo likes to be the dominant dog and she does play rough, not all dogs like that especially the little ones. Also, since she is deaf, she does startle easily. She responds well to hand signs and flashing strobe light at night. She is house and crate trained and knows how to use a doggy door. For more information on adding Cleo to your family fill out an adoption application.
Interested in becoming a volunteer? Safe Haven Animal Rescue offers many opportunities for you to work with our animals. From volunteering at adoptions events and fund raisers to fostering until adoption, there is always a way to help.
Our rescue would not be what it is without the generous help of our foster families. They open their hearts and homes to an animal in need and care for it until adoption. Fostering is always free, we provide the food and medical care while you provide a loving and nurturing environment. We do ask that you drop your foster animal off once a month at our adoption event.
Don't have the ability to foster? No big deal, we have dogs that need a ride somewhere, vet visits, adoption events, etc.
